This is my second time eating here and I am impressed by how much food you get on each plate. The vibe is always A1 & the staff is very friendly.

The food is amazing and the owners are sweet. If you know you know. You better get your plates and be ready to get a fill spread. Definitely worth every penny.

I tried this restaurant for the first time this weekend and I was not disappointed. You could smell the sweet aroma of the food before walking into the restaurant door. There was a short line but everything moved quickly and efficiently. The “heavy plates” are definitely heavy and worth every penny. We purchased the salmon, shrimp, and chicken plates with a combination of all available sides. There was enough food for 2 possibly 3 meals. The flavors were top notch! Kales kitchen is by far the best soul food I’ve ever had.

Me and my family have enjoyed Kales Kitchen quite a few times and everytime we try to get something different. My son loves the MacNCheese! I love the lamb chops. Nothing we have got has ever disappointed! I also love that I can eat of the plate more than once! The TRUE Heavy Plate!! Love Monica and her crew down !! Also I am sure to always tip as they go towards feeding the homeless in the area and I love that! I almost always forget to take a pic but found one!! Turkey wings are MASSIVE

We had Thanksgiving dinner catered to our home by Kales Kitchen for the very first time. The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the lamb chops and potato salad.” I had to take some of the selections off the table b/c the food was getting gone so fast (LOL).Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had since my mom passed years ago! They use the freshest ingredients and make sure each dish is done the right way. An absolutely must try!”

Every time I go, the line is wrapped around the building. It is worth the wait though. You always get a generous portion of food...enough to last a couple of days! The taste/flavor is consistently good....always a hit! Once, I got the steak. It was so big, the food container wouldn't close. I also got a double portion of mac n chz. I ate some, shared some, ate some more, and still had a nice portion left. Because I don't believe in feeding trash cans, I froze the rest. Fast forward 2 months, I took it out and heated it and that mac was just as creamy and moist as the day I bought it!!!!I live in VA, but when I visit Durham I always check their IG page to see if they are selling plates. Kales Kitchen is definitely worth the time and !!!

I've been trying to experience this for a while,and finally did it last night! The line was wrapped around the building 30 minutes before they opened. The food did not disappoint and came out quickly. I did have a little sticker shock, but the quality of the food took care of that. Definitely not an every week spot for me, but maybe once a month as a treat because I like to cook at home.
